Yes, we can remove the lashes - it takes about 30 minutes. What do I need to do prior to my first appointment for lash extensions? Come to your appointment with clean lashes; do not have them permed for 6 weeks prior to appointment. Lashes must be clean and free of mascara and make up. Spend extra time washing your lashes the night before your appointment. Do the eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes? No, because we are specialists, we use only the correct amount of glue and place them near the eyelash root. It is important that lashes are glued 1 – 2 millimetres away from the root. This ensures a healthy eyelash will continue to grow and the skin on the eyelid is kept clean. How many lashes will I get applied in a full set? This depends on how many natural lashes you have on each eye. Generally, anywhere from 50 to 100+ lashes on each eye. Can I get a half set or corners? Yes, the cost varies depending on the type of lashes; corners start at $55 and ½ sets start at $120. What is a half set of lashes? There are two types of ½ sets: 20-30 lashes scattered throughout the whole eye or 20-30 lashes from the middle of the eye to outer corner. What is a set of corners? This is when we add about 7-10 lashes on the outer corners of each eye. My eyelashes appear shorter after having the extensions removed is this true? They may appear shorter because you have become accustomed to looking at longer lashes. After a week they will appear as they were prior to extensions. Can I get them wet? Yes after the first 8 hours of having them applied. You can swim, shower and have a sauna. How do I look after them? Simply brush every morning generally after a shower when the lashes are wet. Avoid using oil base make up remover as this will dissolve the glue and the lashes will fall out quickly. Can I use a face washer and towels near my lashes? No, avoid putting towels near your lashes as they can catch and pull out lashes. I always lose more lashes on one eye, why is that? This is usually because that is the side of the face you sleep on and during the night the lashes can rub on pillows or blankets. |
Use either a foaming cleanser or a non oil base cleanser. Be extremely gentle when cleansing your lashes use a downward motion on the lashes do not cleanse sideways as this will tangle the lashes. I rub my eyes a lot will this be a problem? Yes you cannot rub your eyes in a rough manner as you run the risk of pulling out the extensions and your natural lashes. Can I wear mascara? Yes but it must not be waterproof mascara. Use mascara sparingly. Remember the reason one wears mascara is to get a longer, thicker look. Therefore, there should not be a need for mascara as the extensions should achieve this alone. I cannot wear mascara as I have sensitive skin and eyes. Can I still get eyelash extensions? Maybe, we do have sensitive glues, however, we ask that you make an appointment to test a few lashes on your eyes and if there is no reaction then you can make an appointment. My eyelids are red and swollen? This usually means you have had a sudden reaction to the glue. Take an antihistamine tablet and if your eyes have not settled down in the next 8 hours call and have them removed. If problem persists seek medical attention. I have never had a reaction before? Sometimes, for no apparent reason our body can react suddenly to the glue. There can be several reasons; new medication, seasonal changes in weather and allergies. Take antihistamines as soon as you get the reaction and make an appointment to have the lashes removed. If problem persists seek medical attention. Can I have my eyelashes permed? No not for at least 6 weeks prior to eyelash extension being applied. Do I need to have my eyelash extensions removed on a regular basis?
